| So sorry for those of you who are annoyed with my hockey obsession, but for those of you who aren't, this post is for you. Thanks to my wonderful sister and her husband, we were able to make it to another hockey game this week... only this was even better because my sister and her kids were able to join us this time! You gotta love the perks that come along with this job... the hours stink, and I hate it for my sister's family, but I sure do love their generosity when it comes to their season tickets! The kids all had a blast! Isaac and Ethan have so much fun with their cousins and it just made the game that much more enjoyable for them (which was nice since the Canes lost ) So more than anything else, this post is about pictures... and I know that's what you're all here to see anyway, so here are a bunch of cute pictures from our wonderful Caniac outing. Enjoy! Ashlyn in the van: Jessica in the van:

Okay, there's a story behind the next couple of pictures. At every game, the Storm Squad (lame excuse for hockey cheerleaders) comes out and slingshots t-shirts into the crowd... usually about 3 times per game I think. This is Isaac's favorite part of the game. However, he doesn't seem to understand why they never shoot one his way. He is always waving his arms and screaming like crazy, but has never been fortunate enough to get one. I caught one once, but unfortunately, he was out getting ice cream with Grandma so it wasn't good enough even though I gave the shirt to him. And Grandma caught one once and gave it to him, but it was not good enough becuase he wasn't there when that happened either. I told Tina after the last game that somehow, we've got to get this boy to catch a t-shirt (just one out of 19,000 plus fans trying to get one... no big deal!) We have seen the Storm Squad girls looking right at him and aiming for him, but... well... it's really hard to direct a slingshot... Anyway, this particular game was different. STORMY (the team mascot) was shooting t-shirts into the crowd with a potato gun. Isaac was waving and screaming as usual and I could tell Stormy was looking right at him (as much as you can tell where a stuffed pig is looking) It bounced of the fingers of the guy right in front of me and landed on the floor right at Tina's feet. And, not wanting Isaac to suffer anymore terrible t-shirt traumas, she let him get it! (Thanks Tina... I owe you BIG!) Anyway, he was beside himself! But the rest of the story is hilarious... he never cheers at the games... just sort of sits back and takes it all in quietly. We've never been able to really get him into it like Ethan (who screams LET'S GO HURRICANES through the whole game... sorry to any fans who ever sit within earshot... but you have to admit, it's cute at first!) But after he "caught" that t-shirt, he was TOTALLY into the game... yelling, screaming, cheering... it was great! And then... the Storm Squad came back at a commercial break for another round of t-shirts. As fate would have it, someone ELSE caught the t-shirts this time (can you believe that?!) and Isaac was right back to wondering why in the world he couldn't get one! Although he did tell me he was just trying to catch one for Ethan... but he went right back into his little funk after they were done. No more cheering... back into his mood. It was funny. Nough said. Here's the pics: Ethan trying to catch a shirt: Isaac with the prize: Isaac wearing his prize:

| This morning, my wonderful children were kind enough to let my husband and I sleep in... UNINTERRUPTED!!!! Yes, I know... I am truly blessed. They played very quietly in their room after getting up, and when I finally dragged myself out of bed, I figured out how they managed to stay so quiet... They were busy transforming their room into "Isaac and Ethan's Dollar General" (or Genaral, as they call it) It was so cute. When I got up, they had a big sign on their door... only, much to my dismay, the sign said they were closed :( The owners of the store were taking a much needed break from their busy day and had gone to see a movie. As soon as they figured out that mommy was up, they ditched the movie and re-opened the store! Jordan and I got a good laugh out of this today... but we were able to indulge them a little since I owed them each $1 for some jobs they had done for me to earn Christmas money. So I was able to "purchase" two gumballs from Isaac and Ethan's Dollar General today... boy... this economy really bites!!! This brought back some fond memories of when my sister and I used to set up store in our room as kids. We used to try to sell our school work to our parents! Stories and poems we had written, art projects... you name it, we tried to sell it. Even back then we thought our precious self portraits were worth at least $2!!! And our loving mother didn't have the heart to turn us down and actually BOUGHT our schoolwork from us! So thanks mom... if it hadn't been for you, I probably would have cut out paper dollars and coins and bought my gumballs with that today... but no, I actually paid $2 for two gumballs :) (although, I did kind of cheat since I already owed them $1 each anyway, but hey... these are tough economic times! You gotta save where you can!) :) We did use the experience to work on a little math since they have been tracked out. Isaac did very well at figuring out how much change to give me... and he was even able to make change with money from his piggy bank. Here a few pictures for your enjoyment...
I was higly impressed that they didn't wake us up to come visit their store... instead they just closed up and went downstairs to watch a movie. Here's a picture of the fine young gentlemen that run the store...
The inside is so inviting... even a sign to welcome you to their little general store!

Thanks for visiting Isaac and Ethan's Dollar General! Until next time...
| Wow... okay it's been over a year since I've posted anything on here! But lately I have felt the desire to start blogging more regularly. Absolutely NO promises that this actually means I will keep up with this, but I will certainly try! If nothing else, it is a way to document things going on with the kids so that when I forget something hilarious that one of them said, or something sweet that they did (and anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I ALWAYS do) I need only to look back at my xanga site to refresh my memory! The last seven days have been busy, but definitely fun! We started out with carving pumpkins, then went to a local church for some good Halloween fun. We've been to a hockey game, gone ice-skating, spent a day with car trouble, spent a day at the science museum, picked up TONS of books at the library, watched lots of movies, spent a day with cousins... and tomorrow we are looking forward to some 75 degree weather at the park! The boys are on their last week of track-out, and we have certainly made the best of it! Their latest craze has been hockey, HOCKEY, HOCKEY! They have been begging (several times a day) to play on a hockey team. They are out on the driveway every spare minute with their roller blades, sticks, and pucks. When we went ice skating this week I picked up some hockey gloves for them at the pro shop and they never took them off. They watched a movie that night in their footed jammies with hockey gloves still on They have been busy making Christmas lists, which include every piece of hockey equipment imaginable. They will hopefully be taking their first hockey class in January. Right now they are downstairs playing hockey in the living room with the Hurricanes game on the radio in the background! I can't wait to see their faces Christmas morning when they open up that first piece of equipment! Anyway, here are a few pictures of our busy, fun-filled last week of track-out: Ethan's pumpkin on the left, Isaac's on the right:

That's all for now. I'm sure we'll have many more adventures to come! For more pictures, check out my facebook! Blessings, Carrie
| Well, I mentioned in my last post (two posts in one day? What's that about?) that I love spending time with family... also in town this week were my sister's in-laws... and even though they are not technically family, we still consider them family and LOVE it when they come to town. The boys love Stephen's parents (they call his dad "the magic man" because he's always doing magic tricks for them) and we always have a great time when they are in town. We all went to Red Robin last night (if you've never been there, you've GOT to go! They have the BEST food!) Anyway, MORE pictures for you to enjoy... Jessica with the fry basket...

| I love spending time with family! This weekend, Brandon and his girlfriend Mandy came in to town. It was great to get to hang out with them. On Saturday we had a nice family dinner at Jordan's parents house and just sat around and talked. Then Sunday after church (which was awesome, by the way, with our new Pastor, Rick Hudgens!) we went to see Bourne Ultimatum... great movie! Then we went and had some pizza at Old Chicago and then headed back to Jordan's parents house again for more fellowship. It was great! Definitely a much needed break for Jordan and I... and the kids had a great time too! Here are a few pictures from the weekend: Brandon, Mandy, Isaac and Ethan
